How to Embrace Coaching, Training and Support for Change

Think about how your business is performing now.  Now think about where you need your business to go.  What are the gaps that exist?  Do staff need to learn more about their jobs and the systems to improve productivity?  Do individuals have a “mind block” about certain work activities and don’t want to complete them?  Coaching, training and support for change can support these gaps.

Coaching is a very successful approach which looks at the needs of the individual and how they do things.  It assists people to confront their shortcomings and/or mind blocks and work out ways to improve their job function and processes.  It is done on a 1:1 basis and assists the individual to change what they are doing in a positive way.

Training is about providing a structure to learn different skills in a 1:1 or group environment.  This will improve individual confidence, productivity and performance at work.  If individuals have a skills gap, then training will be the best way for them to learn new skills to improve their work performance.  This training is about systems and procedures and is role based.

In order to provide support for change, coaching and training must be investigated on an individual basis to get the best outcomes for the team.  Each individual should have a training plan which they have developed themselves to identify gaps in their skills.  A Manager will sign off on the training plan and may identify career opportunities for individuals within the business.
